Derby is one of the UK's youngest Cities having been awarded its charter in 1977, historically it is part of the industrial revolution,
the first Silk Mill was opened here and Derbyshire was a famous producer of coal. Derbyshire is fortunate in that while many of it's
heavy industries have closed down there are none of the deep industrial scars seen in some parts of the neighbouring counties.
